Landnýting ehf was officially founded by Halldór Pálsson and Thorkell Sigurlaugsson. The company focuses on profitable investments and the effective utilization of Iceland’s land resources to boost production of food, goods, and services, thereby increasing national export revenues. This approach adheres to principles of sustainability, low carbon emissions, and optimal use of natural resources.
The aim is to ensure that ownership remains predominantly Icelandic.

Gísli H Halldórsson
Chairman of the Board
Gísli holds a degree in economics from the University of Iceland (HÍ) and a master’s in resource management from the University of Akureyri (HA). With extensive management experience, he has served as mayor of the Ísafjarðarbær and Árborg municipalities. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Vatnajökull National Park.

Esteban, an expert in greenhouse systems, holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering from Wageningen University. His 10 years of research experience include work at the Greenhouse Technology Department of the Las Palmerillas Experimental Station.
